What Shopping Small Means to Me

Happy Small Business Saturday! By now, I'm sure you've heard all about why shopping small matters. Today, I want to share with you what shopping small means to me!

When I started The Redheaded Camel five and a half years ago, I had no plans. There was no business plan, no grand idea, and I had basically no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to create things that brought joy to the people who received them! After all this time, I still touch nearly every product, package almost every order, and know many of your stories. I am excited when I see your name pop up and when I get to be a part of your celebrations.

Your purchases put food on our table and shoes (usually sparkly ones!) on my feet. The opportunity to run this company allows me flexibility to spend time with my husband who works extremely long and bizarre hours and to travel to North Carolina when I need a hug from Mama Camel. Your support affirms that I am doing what I was created to do.

Every single Redheaded Camel product is 100% designed by me. Whether it's hand-painted or lettered and then digitally prepared for printing, each and every product comes from my two hands (and my sprinkle-filled heart). The products in our shop that aren't produced in-house are all also manufactured by small, women-owned businesses. That means when you shop with us, you're not only supporting this girl and her family, but other women and families around the US, as well!

As you're shopping and celebrating this weekend, I hope you'll remember small businesses like mine. When you tell your friends about us and make purchases for yourself and your loved ones, you change lives. Shopping small is a simple choice that matters, and one that I am immensely grateful that you choose, every single day.
