Festive and Affordable Christmas Cookie Box Gift
Happy Friday, friends! I can't even believe it's almost Christmas, but I am so enjoying all the festivities that come with this most wonderful time of the year.
One of my personal favorite traditions around the holidays is baking cookies! Y'all know I am all about some homemade sweet treats, and there are so many ways to make them extra special during the holiday season. Today, I am so excited to share a sweet, thoughtful, and affordable way to spread some holiday cheer this Christmas!
Baked goodies are great for pretty much anyone who needs a quick, simple gift from you this season and are affordable AND adorable, too! You'll need:
- Kraft paper gable boxes (click here for these)
- Large google eyes (click here for the perfect size)
- Red pom poms (click here for ones like mine)
- Red paper shred (I love this kind!)
- Glue gun (this is my favorite - also makes a great gift!)
- Assorted ribbon
First, choose your sweets! I recommend using several different tastes and textures for a nicely-balanced treat box.
In this year's box, I included:
- Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting
- Gingerbread Cookies with Royal Icing
- Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Classic Chocolate Fudge with Sprinkles
- Peanut Butter Balls (Buckeyes)
- Peppermint Bark Fudge
This is where you can get really creative and let your baking talents shine! Choose six to eight different treats to include and have some fun! If you're in need of a great recipe, click here to grab mine. I love hearing from you about how awesome these cookies are!
Once your cookies are baked, decorated, and ready to pack, the fun begins! Use your packaging products (above) and get ready for a very merry treat.
Attach google eyes and red pom poms to create a "Rudolph" face on your gable box. I used hot glue for this! Click here for my favorite glue gun. Write a note on the back or add a holiday gift sticker so your recipients will know who to thank (especially if you'll be leaving on a doorstep!).
Then, use a small sprinkling of festive paper shred to line the bottom of your box. It doesn't take much - just enough to cover the bottom is perfect! Gently place your cookies and treats in the box. I recommend two of each variety for a generous, but manageable finished product.
Once your treats are all inside, affix the "arms" of the box closed and use a fun, festive ribbon (preferably wired) in a big bow on top. Fluff it out so it's large and over the top!
This project is the perfect weekend-before-Christmas activity for kids of all ages and is so appreciated by recipients every single time. I still have friends from last year who talk about their cookie boxes! All of the products I used for this project are available through Amazon Prime and will arrive in time for you to craft before Christmas! Grab some supplies and start baking - I promise, you'll create memories and traditions your family will look forward to for many years to come.
Happy baking!
