Camel Countdown | 001

Camel Countdown | 001

Hey friends, and happy Friday!  I'm so excited to be introducing a new series - the Camel Countdown.  This weekly post will be focused on sharing things that have brought joy or a little extra happy to my world in hopes of passing some of the goodness to y'all.  If you like watching more than reading, you can find each Camel Countdown on our Facebook page - I'll go live every Friday to share the top things that made my week happy.

In no particular order, here are the top five things that had me smiling all week long!

Teleties

I know, this seems a little random.  A hair tie made the cut?!  Yes, friend.  It totally did... and here's why.

I've been a member of the thick hair club for forever - which often ends me up with broken elastic hairbands or broken hair or a headache to go with my super cute top knot.  Not fun, I tell you.  When I was shopping at The Cute Closet Boutique a few months ago, I stumbled upon Teleties and was fascinated.  I got the "small" size, thinking that would do the trick.  Don't get me wrong - they work just fine.  However, it's one of those situations where I need it to wrap one more time and it just won't work.

When I was dropping off some spring hand-painted happiness for The Cute Closet last week, I decided to grab a pack of the "large" Teleties.  High-five to myself, because they're awesome.  Plus, the fun colors give a little extra happy to any outfit/arm party.

Tassel Jewelry

It's no secret that tassels are my jam.  I can find a way to incorporate them into just about any outfit, regardless of occasion.  I thought for our first Camel Countdown, it was only fitting that I include my favorite tassels so we can all be twins when you order yours!

For everyday partying, Margie and Dot is my go to.  They're all hand-made tassels (so cool, right?!) and she can do any color or size.  The party necklace (the real name is the Rainbow Row necklace) is my personal favorite and necklace of choice for any and all occasions.

When I want to bring the party but have on a more patterned or colorful outfit, The Sandy Pearls always comes in handy with tassel earrings.  I love that they're lightweight and don't irritate my skin, but that they pack a little (color) punch in the best way.

For my "fancy" tassels (aka when I need to be sort of professional), I love this mini tassel necklace from Francesca's.  It's dainty but still colorful, and you can wrap it multiple ways for a bunch of different styles in one happy little necklace.

"Everybody Always" by Bob Goff

I could go on and on (and on) about how much I love Bob and the way that he shares his faith with the world.  I'll just leave it at this - I got a first edition, signed copy of "Everybody Always" and had tears in my eyes.  I'm only a couple of chapters in (because, you know, graduation cap toppers), and I'm so obsessed.

"Girl, Wash Your Face" by Rachel Hollis

Another book on the list this week is "Girl, Wash Your Face."  I read this whole book on the plane to New Jersey to see Quentin and absolutely can't recommend it enough.  Every girl above the age of 18 totally needs to read and appreciate the wisdom, humor, and encouragement Rachel shares.

The Redheaded Camel Caravan

Earlier this spring, I started a community group on Facebook for all the friends who wanted to get the down low on the behind the scenes stuff, get sneak peeks of new products, and learn more about the "why" behind our happy home decor.  It has been so fun to watch friendships form and get to know some of my customers more personally through this platform!  If you're not a member of the Caravan, what are you waiting for?!  Click right here to join.
